I 8.1 I <br /> city op PRESCOTT <br /> ��yJrtdnlLfiNU/G COUNCIL AGENDA MEMO <br /> MEETING DATE/TYPE: VOTING MEETING 5-14-19. <br /> DEPARTMENT: City Attorney <br /> AGENDA ITEM: Adoption of Resolution No 2019-1692 approving the use of eminent <br /> domain to acquire property necessary for the Hope Street drainage improvements. <br /> Approved By: Michael Lamar, City Manager <br /> Item Summary <br /> Approval of this item will authorize the City Legal Department to acquire property <br /> necessary for drainage improvements on Hope Street through the eminent domain <br /> process. <br /> Background <br /> The City is required to make improvements to the drainage system on Hope Street. <br /> Several Homeowners in the area have agreed to provide the City with drainage <br /> easements and temporary construction easements for this project. One property, <br /> owned by the IATIA Revocable Living Trust has refused. As a result the City must now <br /> acquire the necessary easements through the eminent domain process. <br /> 660 square feet of property is required for the drainage easement and 1,005 square feet <br /> of property is required for the temporary. construction easement. The City had an <br /> appraisal performed that determined the total value of both easements is $4,805.00. <br /> Attachments <br /> 1. Resolution No. 2019-1692 <br /> 2.
