9.A <br />( tTY<, PRES('OTT <br />MEETING DATE/TYPE: <br />DEPARTMENT: City Clerk <br />COUNCIL AGENDA MEMO <br />VOTING MEETING 8-14-18 <br />AGENDA ITEM: Appointment of members to the various Boards, Commissions, and <br />Committees to fill existing vacancies occurring in Calendar Year 2018. <br />Approved By: Michael Lamar, City Manager <br />Item Summary <br />This item is presented for consideration and approval of the Council Subcommittee for <br />Appointments recommendations to fill vacancies that exist on various Boards, <br />Commissions, and Committees in 2018. <br />Background <br />In December 2011, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 4113-1223 which <br />established a Council policy for membership on Boards, Commissions, and <br />Committees, and set forth the procedures for making appointments. The appointment <br />process provides for review and recommendation of applicants by the Council <br />Subcommittee for Appointments, and presentation to the full Council for approval. <br />The Council Subcommittee for Appointments held a meeting on July 17th to review the <br />submitted applications and determine their recommendations for appointments to the <br />various Boards, Commissions, and Committees. All of the applicants recommended for <br />appointment have passed the City's required background check. <br />Financial Impact <br />There is no financial impact associated with this request. <br />Attachments <br />1. 2018 BCC August Recommendations <br />Recommended Action: MOVE to approve the recommendations of the Council <br />Subcommittee for Appointments as presented in Attachment 1, for appointments to the <br />City's various Boards, Commissions, and Committees to fill vacancies occurring in <br />Calendar Year 2018. <br />Packet Pg. 106 <br />
