RESOLUTION NO. 4261-1470 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRESCOTT, <br /> YAVAPAI COUNTY, ARIZONA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF <br /> ARIZONA, THROUGH THE ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, FOR ISSUING <br /> MUNICIPAL PRIVILEGE TAX LICENSES. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Prescott ("City") wishes to enter into an <br /> Agreement with the State of Arizona, through the Arizona Department of Revenue ("ADR"), <br /> for issuing municipal privilege tax licenses; and <br /> WHEREAS, ADR is responsible for issuing annual municipal privilege tax licenses <br /> to persons who engage in business in the City of Prescott; and <br /> WHEREAS, ADR is not able to begin licensing such persons at this time; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the ability and wherewithal to process applications and <br /> issue municipal privilege tax licenses for persons engaging in business in the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, entering into an Agreement with the State of Arizona, through ADR, for <br /> issuing municipal privilege tax licenses for persons engaging in business in the City will be <br /> in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the City. <br /> ENACTMENTS: <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PRESCOTT AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. THAT, the City Council hereby approves an Agreement with the State of <br /> Arizona, through ADR, for the issuance of municipal privilege tax licenses to those persons <br /> engaging in business in the City. <br /> Section 2. THAT, the Mayor and staff are hereby authorized to sign the Agreement <br /> with the State of Arizona, through ADR, for the issuance of municipal privilege tax licenses <br /> to those persons engaging in business in the City. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the City of <br /> Prescott this day of , 2014. <br /> MARLIN D.
