PRESCOTT CITY COUNCIL <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> TUESDAY, APRIL 22, 2014 <br /> PRESCOTT, ARIZONA <br /> MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PRESCOTT CITY COUNCIL HELD <br /> ON APRIL 22, 2014, in the COUNCIL CHAMBERS located at CITY HALL, 201 SOUTH <br /> CORTEZ STREET, Prescott, Arizona. <br /> • CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kuykendall called the meeting to order at 10:00 A.M. <br /> • ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Absent: <br /> Mayor Kuykendall Councilwoman Wilcox - excused <br /> Mayor Pro Tern Lamerson <br /> Councilman Arnold, <br /> Councilman Blair <br /> Councilman Kuknyo <br /> Councilman Lazzell <br /> I. REGULAR AGENDA <br /> A. Airport Area Economic Development Strategic Planning Session 4 <br /> Jeff Burt, Economic Initiatives Director, presented, showing a PowerPoint presentation <br /> which covered the following: <br /> • SESSION 3 REVIEW <br /> Mr. Burt noted, the majority of the development in the area, off the airport, will be private <br /> sector driven. The City will be in a roll of steering and supporting new development, <br /> through infrastructure planning and investments that it makes. He said Public-Private <br /> partnerships will be a critical part of what the City does in the future. Two airport options <br /> were previously presented for the airport: general aviation or regional. Mr. Burt noted <br /> that there were now three options: general aviation, commercial/local and a <br /> commercial/regional airport. <br /> Mr. Burt said the primary funding source is the Federal Aviation Administration. He said <br /> that the Arizona Department of Transportation and the City of Prescott would also <br /> contribute to the funding of challenges and opportunities related to airport capital <br /> investments necessary to meet strategic planning goal and objectives. <br />
