Prescott City Council <br /> Special Meeting April 22, 2014 Page 3 <br /> Mr. McConnell said staff was planning to come to the Council on May 2, 2014 to discuss <br /> the process and schedule of the General Plan. <br /> Ms. Zelms said that all the comments will be put to use in the budget process and noted <br /> that the goals do not come without challenges. <br /> Mr. McConnell noted the purpose of the Special Budget Meeting was to provide a <br /> higher level context for work programs and goals. He said that through the presentation, <br /> the basis has been established. Staff is presenting more budget meetings this year <br /> than they have in prior years. <br /> Mayor Pro Tern Lamerson asked when Council would be getting the retirement <br /> requirements for the Public Service employees from the state. Ms. Zelms said that it <br /> would not be before June. Mayor Pro Tern Lamerson said it is difficult to set the budget <br /> before Council had that information. <br /> Mr. McConnell said staff is going to continue providing the same public safety services <br /> until they have an opportunity to digest the recommendations and determine what <br /> makes sense with Council. He said that from a policy standpoint staff and Council will <br /> have to determine if they want to make some shifts. <br /> II.
