RESOLUTION NO. 4220-1429 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRESCOTT, <br /> YAVAPAI COUNTY, ARIZONA, TO APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF <br /> UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF PRESCOTT AND THE UNITED STATES <br /> DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS REGARDING LAW ENFORCEMENT <br /> JURISDICTION AT THE NORTHERN ARIZONA VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL <br /> CENTER. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Prescott ("Prescott") has the authority pursuant to its <br /> Charter, A.R.S. §9-240, §11-952 to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") <br /> with the United States federal government; and <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced governmental entities desire to enter into an <br /> MOU to govern the terms and conditions of law enforcement jurisdiction on the Northern <br /> Arizona Veterans Affairs Medical Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Prescott, and will serve the <br /> health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Prescott, to enter into an MOU with the United <br /> States Department of Veterans Affairs to govern law enforcement jurisdiction and activities <br /> on the Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Medical Center. <br /> ENACTMENTS: <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PRESCOTT AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. THAT the City of Prescott hereby authorizes entering into an MOU with <br /> the United States of America, through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, <br /> governing law enforcement jurisdiction and activities on the Northern Arizona Veterans <br /> Affairs Medical Center. <br /> Section 2. THAT the Mayor and Staff are hereby authorized to execute the MOU <br /> dated April 14, 2014, between the City of Prescott and the United States Department of <br /> Veterans Affairs and to take any and all steps deemed necessary to accomplish the <br /> above. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the City of <br /> Prescott this day of , 2014. <br />
