AGENDA ITEM: Adoption of Resolution No. 4141-1301 establishing Campaign Sign <br /> Free Zone(s); and adoption of Ordinance No. 4839-1302 amending City Code Sections <br /> 8-2-3 and 8-2-4 to limit campaign signs in certain public rights-of-way <br /> ENFORCEMENT <br /> Both of the City Code sections recited above already provide for enforcement of <br /> violations pursuant to Section 1-3. <br /> It should be noted that none of the options presented herein include retroactive <br /> provisions. Signs existing in the public right-of-way prior to the effective date of the <br /> selected option will be allowed to remain through the time period set out by the statutes. <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Council's pleasure. Motions for each of the three options are provided below. <br /> Option A <br /> (1) Adopt Resolution No. 4141-1301 establishing a Campaign Sign Free Zone; <br /> and <br /> (2) Adopt Ordinance No. 4839-1302 amending Sections 8-2-3 and 8-2-4 of the <br /> City Code to regulate campaign signs within the public rights-of-way. <br /> Option B <br /> (1) Adopt Resolution No. 4141-1301 establishing a Campaign Sign Free Zone; <br /> and <br /> (2) Adopt Ordinance No. 4839-1302 amending Sections 8-2-3 and 8-2-4 of the <br /> City Code to regulate campaign signs within the public rights-of-way and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> Option C <br /> (1) Adopt Resolution No. 4141-1301 establishing two Campaign Sign Free <br /> Zones; <br /> and <br /> (2) Adopt Ordinance No. 4839-1302 amending Sections 8-2-3 and 8-2-4 of the <br /> City Code to regulate campaign signs within the public rights-of-way and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> 3 <br />
