A critical project <br /> element is twenty-four seven, electrical service at all the tower sites to provide <br /> continuous operation of micro wave and emergency radio equipment. Currently four of <br /> the six tower sites will require new emergency generators to provide electrical service in <br /> the event of an APS power outage. These sites include Mingus Tank, Northwest Tank, <br /> Peavine and the Yavapai Hills Tank. <br /> STATUS <br /> Sealed bids were opened on October 16th for four new emergency standby generators <br /> at a minimum size of 35KW. The units, powered by propane, will be enclosed in <br /> acoustically designed enclosures with automatic transfer switches. Nine bids were <br /> received ranging from $41,796 to $79,340. The bids were evaluated and the successful <br /> low bidder is Arizona Generator Technology at the cost of $41,796 (plus tax), shipping <br /> included.
