A critical project <br /> element is twenty-four seven, electrical service at all the tower sites to provide <br /> continuous operation of micro wave and emergency radio equipment. Currently four of <br /> the six tower sites will require new emergency generators to provide electrical service in <br /> the event of an APS power outage. These sites include Mingus Tank, Northwest Tank, <br /> Peavine and the Yavapai Hills Tank. <br /> STATUS <br /> Sealed bids were opened on October 16th for four new emergency standby generators <br /> at a minimum size of 35KW. The units, powered by propane, will be enclosed in <br /> acoustically designed enclosures with automatic transfer switches. Nine bids were <br /> received ranging from $41,796 to $79,340. The bids were evaluated and the successful <br /> low bidder is Arizona Generator Technology at the cost of $41,796 (plus tax), shipping <br /> included. A summary of the bids are listed below: <br /> Arizona Generator Technology $41,796 plus tax <br /> Wilson Electric Services Corp. $45,976 plus tax <br /> Gruber Technical, Inc. $47,020 plus tax <br /> Thomas Electrical Contractors $47,844 plus tax <br /> Harris Mechanical Southwest $49,030 plus tax <br /> SWABS-Az, Inc. $49,820 plus tax <br /> US Energy $52,272 plus tax <br /> WW Williams $76,480 plus tax <br /> Cobra Power Systems $79,340 plus tax <br /> RECOMMENDATION: MOVE to award the bid for four new standby generators with <br /> automatic transfer switches to Arizona Generator Technology for $41,796 plus tax. This <br /> is a budgeted item in the Public Safety upgrade project and will be charged to account <br /> #24-85101-712. <br /> 1 <br />
